Grief is an Island
Grief is an Island is an intimate retreat space created for those navigating loss and life after bereavement. Rooted in compassion and guided by professional experience, it offers a place to step away from the noise of everyday life and enter a quieter, more supported environment.
Set in nature on the island of Ibiza, our retreats are designed to hold the complexity of grief with care and understanding. Through a blend of therapeutic practices, gentle structure, and spacious time for rest, we create an environment where nothing needs to be rushed, explained, or resolved.
Griet is deeply personal and often isolating. Here, it is met with sensitivity, presence, and respect for each individual journey. This is not a space to fix or move beyond grief, but to learn how to live alongside it with greater steadiness, awareness, and self compassion.
Founded by Leah Timmins and Danielle Sadler, Grief Is An Island brings together lived experience and professional expertise in trauma informed care, nursing, and mind-body practices. Together, they offer a space where grief can be expressed, witnessed, and gently supported.
Whether your loss is recent or something you have been carrying for some time, you are welcome here.
About Us
Leah Timmins - Trauma Informed Mind-Body Specialist With over fifteen years of hands on experience Leah blends science and somatic wisdom in her teachings. After losing her sister Rachel she turned to yoga, breathwork, hypnotherapy, and bodywork to help navigate her own grief. These practices now form the foundation of her life's work. Through her teachings as Stretchbiza, Leah guides others in transtorming trauma and loss into connection, compassion, and awareness.
Danielle Sadler - Specialist Nurse, Bereavement Expert & Yoga Teacher With almost twenty years as a clinical nurse and grief specialist, Danielle brings both professional expertise and lived experience as a bereaved mother to her work. Through trauma-informed yoga, and mindful presence, she guides others in finding safety, balance, and meaning to life after loss.
Together Leah and Danielle share a belief that true healing honours every part of us - body, mind, and heart. Drawing from their personal journeys and professional expertise, they've created Grief Is an Island, a sanctuary where grief is met with compassion, movement, and understanding, offering space to rest, release, and begin again.

Their mission extends beyond providing a transformative escape; it's about curating a supportive community for all facets of grief. Whether you're recently facing a loss or whether you have been processing for some time, the Grief Is An Island retreat is an inclusive haven designed to nurture and help create a safe supportive space for you to feel
