Attended grif is an island March 2026.

At GIAl retreat, I felt like I arrived home. Perfect strangers retreating together but there was a familiarity. We all came carrying our own heavy grief backpacks, invisible to the outside world but visible to those that know grief. Leah and Danielle held space that felt safe enough for us to gently take them off and unpack them together, exploring the contents and validate what we have all been carrying. With the unloading came the profound awareness of how grief shows up physically in our bodies..

Amir's wonderful soul food that provided comfort, nourished and replenished our energy. The daily yoga, breath work, hypnotherapy, guided workshops and time to explore outdoors were all beautifully thought through to help ease us all into unbracing and breathing.

To Leah, Danielle, Amir and my fellow grief islanders - thank you. This experience has truly opened my eyes and heart in ways I will never forget.

Attended Grief is an Island March 2026

I attended GIAI together with my Mum. We have endured two traumatic losses: my dad in 2006 and my younger brother in 2024. We arrived with a completely open mind, hoping to gain some tools to help us cope, but with no real expectations. It wasn't something we'd ever done before, or even seen advertised anywhere. It turned out to be a truly transformative experience.

Leah and Danielle guided us through every step with care, compassion, and a genuine understanding of what we were all navigating. There were big laughs, big cries, and lots of hugs. Everyone there was absolutely exceptional, a real bunch of legends. The food was nourishing and comforting, truly food for the soul. From the beautiful location to the workshop sessions, every detail had been thoughtfully curated to create a calming and restorative experience. It was exactly what a hurting soul needed.

We came home with practical tools to support us, lasting friendships, and, perhaps most importantly, the reassurance that we are not alone in this.

A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible. A big, fat 10/10 from me.

Attended Grief is an Island March 2026.

Wow. From the very first emails and calls, Leah and Danielle made me feel supported and safe-even before l'd booked. I was nervous about traveling alone, but Grief is an Island immediately felt like something special.

Every detail was thoughtfully considered: the beautiful villa, Amir's nourishing meals, the group workbooks, yoga, breathwork, sound baths, hypnotherapy, and Leah's magical hands during myofascial release. It was deeply restorative.

I connected with wonderful people, laughed, cried, and opened my heart, gently guided every step of the way. We explored stunning parts of Ibiza and also had space to reflect, rest, and simply be.

Leah and Danielle have created something truly special. I left with meaningful tools-especially breathwork-that continue to support me long after returning home. I can't recommend this retreat enough to anyone on their grief journey.

Attended Grief is an Island March 2026.

After the loss of my life partner David suddenly last year, the overwhelm of grief consumed me, it was first experience of such devastating loss.  A close friend gently introduced me to the ‘Grief  is an Island ‘ Retreat, and I immediately connected to the proposal of workshops to navigate and support grief, and the date was set.

On meeting both Leah & Danielle in Ibiza, I knew I was in the right place for this part of my journey, the instant care, empathy and patience was a constant, throughout my stay. A beautifully curated timetable of activities and workshops, yoga and breathe work, all designed to calm & soothe, whilst at the same time shifting and shaping internalised emotions, all held in a safe space. Attention to detail, the quality of the delivery of the sessions, exceptional workbooks and curated prompts, even to breathe and release, all timed impeccably with the flow of the retreat. And what a beautiful connection I experienced from the other guests, all of us vulnerable yet supporting each other as daily rituals and workshops prompted, the quiet softening of our grip and allowing and encouraging heartfelt release.

My time in Ibiza, was sacred, essential yet unexplainable, and gift to myself as I learn to continue my life without David whilst honouring the love that we shared. Thank you and love always to Leah & Danielle .

My Grief is an Island experience will stay with me forever in all the very best ways. It was a truly immersive, nurturing and healing retreat. As a bereaved mum living with deep grief and the aftermath of traumatic experiences, this retreat delivered more than I could have wished for. The connections with others on their grief journeys was magically organic and really valuable. I have so many helpful takeaways for my toolkit moving forward.

Leah and Danielle created a safe space in the most beautiful setting and shared the benefit of their own lived experience and years of expertise across countless healing modalities.

It is true to say grief is an island but those feelings of isolation and aloneness, got set aside in Ibiza!.The retreat provided an invaluable unique opportunity to come together with others grieving. It enabled us to share our stories in an understanding & empathetic space, expertly guided by Leah and Danielle. How refreshing it was to be surrounded by a lovely kind hearted group who truly 'get it'. Thank you for everything!
